Dr. Peeters has received funding from the RSC Materials Division to organize Bioinspired Materials 2017, a 2 day conference that will take place on the 31 August & 1 September at MMU. More information can be found on the conference website, and abstract submission is still open (http://www.mmu.ac.uk/bioinspired). A preliminary programme with all oral presentations will be posted on the website soon. It is promising to be a truly exciting international conference with contributions of over 10 different countries.
In the summer, she will present her work at the prestigious Biodefense world summit that is taking place in Alexandria (VA). In addition, she has received a bursary from the RSC to represent the UK Scientific Community at the IUPAC General Assembly and Conference (Sao Paulo Brazil, 7-14 July).
On the Research day at MMU, the students from the Peeters group (Timothy Goris and Kai Betlem) won a 3rd prize in the Science Image competition. The image, showing the chemical separation of fluorescent monomers, is shown below.
